Are you Ready for Nautical This Year?

It doesn’t quite feel like Summer until the Nautical flair emerges from our closets. This season, we found a plethora of cool designers flipping the traditional theme of seascapes on its head. Chance Co provides a field guide of seashells, while boat paraphernalia surrounds us with Band of Outsiders’ sailboat shirt, Chance Co’s rope necklace (a collaboration with Lizzie Fortunato) and L’Atalante’s Necklace by Apres Ski.

The one coveted item from the recent Spring collection is Kate Spade’s New York All Aboard Ship Clutch, which we can’t get out of our minds. Tumblr #NYFW Spring 2012

We had so much fun last season bringing some of our top fashion bloggers here to New York to cover fashion week that I’m thrilled to announce we’re doing it again!

Our team spent the past few weeks reviewing each and every one of the hundreds of blog submissions that you all sent in, in search of the most creative people in our fashion community.

We were looking for individuals who not only create and curate some of the best content on their respective blogs, but who also recognize this as an opportunity to begin developing their careers within the fashion industry.

I’m extremely proud of the 16 amazing individuals whom we chose, as they each contribute unique points of view on womenswear, menswear, beauty, models, personal style and photography.  Joining them are four incredibly gifted people from last season, whose exceptional work speaks for itself.

Their collective diversity is a true representation of what I believe the Tumblr fashion community is all about and I hope you all have an opportunity to check them all out.
